With more than 300 degree programs, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville prepares students to work and succeed in innumerable roles in high-demand fields. UT strives to develop, implement, support, and assess programs and services that lead to persistence towards graduation. Overall, the six-year undergraduate graduation rate increased from 73.9 percent to 74.5 percent in 2025 while the first-year retention rate increased from 91.9 percent to 92.4 percent.
