In May 2000, the Faculty Senate adopted the Teaching Council’s recommendations on Student Review of Teaching that comparative means be removed from the result reports. The report called for the development of an on-line database where instructors could compare individual course means with university-wide means for courses with similar characteristics.
Mean Rating Scale
Comparative means for questions 1-22 on Forms A-I, X and questions 1-13 on Form J are available at the college and university level. Means are calculated for Forms A-J using the following scale on the left. For Form X, questions 1-4 use the same scale, questions 5-22 use the scale on the right:
